Bring your systems online

The Engine sits within reach of your systems and connects outbound to ConvergeSense. It executes reviewed operations locally and returns normalized evidence to the platform.

Before you start#

• Use an owner account to enroll an Engine.
• Choose a host that can reach the equipment, monitoring, or ticketing systems you intend to connect.
• Allow the Engine's outbound connection to your configured ConvergeSense control plane.
• Use the installation and enrollment instructions supplied for your environment.

Enroll the host#

In the platform, open Connector Engines and start the enrollment flow. Follow the generated instructions on your host. Enrollment uses a short-lived, single-use token and registers the Engine's keys.

Keep enrollment tokens private. If a token expires or has already been consumed, generate a new enrollment through the platform.

Confirm connectivity#

On the Engine page, check its heartbeat, status, version, and pending delivery count. A current heartbeat establishes that the runtime is communicating with the control plane; it does not establish that every target device is reachable.

Add a connection to verify the actual target system through the connection wizard.

Enable agent operations#

The Engine must advertise the capabilities required by the tools you intend to use. Agent tool access requires agent_tool_plane_v1. Individual system tools can require additional capabilities.

For example, the reviewed port-usage tool also requires port_usage_query_v1, a connection pinned to the current connector digest, and an enabled tool policy.

If the Engine goes offline#

Restore the host's outbound control-plane connection and check its local runtime status. Do not repeatedly launch the same read with new request keys while connectivity is uncertain.
